FAQ

Competition questions

Is this an official WCA tool?

No. Flowtimer reads the WCA's public results so you never have to copy them by hand, and it never writes anything back. It is not affiliated with the World Cube Association.

What gets imported with a competition?

Every event you competed in, each round with its format, your attempt times, your single and average, your position and any records. Dates, venue and the schedule come too.

Can I add a competition that is not on the WCA?

Yes. Unofficial comps, meetups and made-up rounds can all be built by hand with whatever events and formats you want.

Which round formats are supported?

All five the WCA uses: best of 1, best of 2, best of 3, mean of 3 and average of 5. Cutoffs, time limits and advancement conditions are stored per round.

Do competition solves count towards my normal averages?

No, they stay in their own sessions so your practice statistics stay clean. You can still compare the two whenever you want.

What if I leave a round halfway through?

It waits for you. Go check a chart or answer a message and come back to the exact attempt you were on.

Can I set a goal for a round?

Yes, per round. Once it is set you always know what you need on the attempts you have left.
